Blessed are the Poor in Spirit – Recognizing our need of a Savior. If you don’t have need of a savior, He is certainly not going to be your savior. If you don’t need Jesus Christ as the Lord of your life he’s not going to be the Lord of your life. So we start […]
The beatitudes are some of the great teachings of the Bible. They tell us how we are to live our Christian walk. It’s not an option – it’s the way it is! This is how we are able to experience His blessing, be fulfilled, and how we “get our life together.” You cannot really walk with God unless Jesus is the Lord of your life.
After recognizing our need of a Savior we must repent of our sins and call upon the Lord.
After we repent God will take away our sin and our pride and give us a humble and a meek spirit. Once we realize the pit out of which we have been dug, pride is all gone and we will have a meek spirit.
He changes our appetites and fills us with a different kind of hunger. Where once we loved evil and hated righteousness, something internal has changed and now we hunger after righteousness.
He fills us. He fills us with compassion and mercy. Again, we realize what He has done and how He has changed us. We become people of compassion and mercy.
He has cleansed us and given us clean hands, a pure heart and a good conscience. We can walk with the Lord and see Him.
He’s called us to the ministry of peacemaking and reconciliation — bringing peace between man and God, as well as man to man.
